 About Tutankhamun’s Tomb, In ancient Egyptian history, Tutankhamun is remembered as a pharaoh of the 18th dynasty. During the New Kingdom, from 1334 to 1325 B.C., he ruled Egypt as king. Tutankhamun was one of the most famous pharaohs. At first look, people may believe that his popularity is due to what he accomplished or the wars he fought, as was the case with many previous pharaohs (as is the case with many pharaohs). There are other events in history that contributed to his fame. The most significant factor is that his tomb was discovered with all of its belongings and riches intact.

Specifically, 5,398 objects have been discovered in the tomb. Many believed he died at a very early age, making it difficult to determine what occurred. Also peculiar was the fact that his thigh and skull bones were fractured. There is a story that Pharaohs were cursed due of the weird occurrences around the tomb of Tutankhamun. These factors have made this youthful monarch the most well-known ancient Egyptian pharaoh. His life and many of the mysteries surrounding his death have been included in films, novels, and even video games.

His Death

Archaeologists believe that his murder was one of the oldest in human history, despite the fact that there are still many unanswered issues concerning it. Cemetery 62 in the Valley of the Kings is where the infant Tutankhamun was buried.

Tutankhamun was only nine years old when he became Pharaoh of Egypt. His name in ancient Egyptian means “the living image of the god Amun” (Amun: the great ancient Egyptian deity) (Amun was the most important god in ancient Egypt.) Tutankhamun assumed control after Akhenaten’s request for worship of a single deity called Aten. This was a period of transformation in Egyptian history. In 1922, British archaeologist Howard Carter discovered the tomb of Tutankhamun in the Valley of the Kings.

Howard Carter said that the day he found the tomb was the best day he had ever seen and that he didn’t think he would ever see anything like it again. Howard Carter spent about 10 years digging up the tomb, but the work hasn’t been put together yet.

On November 4, 1922, Howard Carter found the artifacts. Many of them were moved to this museum right away. Each of the three sarcophagi has 450 pounds of solid gold in its coffin. It’s one of the best things a goldsmith has ever made. This is all that is left of a tomb built by the Egyptians that was broken into soon after it was finished. Since he died when he was only 18, Tutankhamun might not have had as much money as other Pharaohs. Attendance records have been broken almost everywhere the collection has been. It is now in the basement of the Egyptian Museum, but it will soon have a new home in downtown Cairo.

Collection:

The collection, which is thought to have over 1700 items, includes basic funeral equipment, furniture and boxes, jewelry, ornaments, statues and containers, and other items.
