The Grand Egyptian Museum, located on the edge of the Giza Plateau in Egypt, is expected to open its doors to the public this summer. Designed by Ireland's Heneghan Peng Architects, the museum is located just two kilometers from Egypt's iconic pyramids. The Grand Egyptian Museum, the world's largest single civilization museum, will showcase nearly 100,000 ancient Egyptian artifacts. The entire museum complex will include a 24,000 square meter permanent exhibition hall, a conservation center, a children's museum, educational exhibits, conference areas, and landscaped gardens.

A trip to the main attractions of Ancient Egypt is not complete without a visit to Aswan. The city is located in the far south of Egypt, 850 km from Cairo, on the banks of the Nile River. Aswan is the last "big" city before the Sudanese border, so the city has become a staging point to visit many attractions in the region, especially Abu Simbel.

The Blue Hole, popular for free diving due to its easy access directly from shore and the absence of a current, is also known to have the highest number of snorkeling deaths in the world, with approximately 130 to 200 divers have died there in recent years.
