A trip to the main attractions of Ancient Egypt is not complete without a visit to Aswan. The city is located in the far south of Egypt, 850 km from Cairo, on the banks of the Nile River. Aswan is the last "big" city before the Sudanese border, so the city has become a staging point to visit many attractions in the region, especially Abu Simbel.
